TURKEY FETA BURGERS with CREAMY CHIPOTLE SPREAD

These Turkey Feta Burgers with Creamy Chipotle Sauce are delish! It took my family, actually my husband, a bit to warm up to the idea of eating turkey instead of beef, but now that he's tried them he loves 'em. Almost prefers them to ground beef. It's a fabulous thing.

*If your going to top these with the Stuffed Jalapenos see note below.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1.2 lb ground turkey, 87/13
  • 1 tbsp worchestershire sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp of milk
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/3 cup feta, crumbled
  • 4 onion rolls

Mix turkey, worchestershire sauce, milk, garlic, salt and pepper with a fork until just blended. Mix in feta and form into 4 patties. Drizzle with olive oil and cook in a skillet or on a grill.

Wrap rolls in tinfoil and place on grill or in a heated oven to warm.

Serve burgers with regular or fat free chipotle spread, slice of onion, dill pickle slices and tomato slice if desired.

CREAMY CHIPOTLE SPREAD Mix 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1 tsp chipotle/adobo puree, juice of 1/2 lime, salt and pepper to taste.

For the fat free version - Mix 1/2 cup fat free sour cream or fat free mayo, 1 tsp chipotle/adobo puree, juice of 1/2 lime, salt and pepper.

Try your burgers topped with Stuffed Jalapenos. It's a great way to take your burgers to the next level and boy are they good.

*Note: Leave out the feta and milk if your going to top these with the Stuffed Jalapeno. Also, I like to add an egg (slightly beaten) because it gives the burgers a great outside crust when you cook them. It is a little hard to get the egg mixed in (use hands) and get the patties formed, and somewhat disgusting feeling really, but way worth it.

NOTE: I puree a can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce and store in the refrigerator to use in various sauces and recipes.
