CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING

I started to say this "Chocolate Buttercream Frosting" is just a standard frosting recipe but I stopped myself because that really does it a gross injustice. The recipe may be pretty standard when it comes to buttercreams but oh my is it delicious. I love using half and half or even cream in my frostings. It just adds that little bit of extra ummpf. Wow, now I'm hungry for cake. Who am I kidding, just eating the frosting by itself would be fine and dandy.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 tbsp butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 3 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 6-7 tbsp half & half or cream (milk would work)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Beat butter until light and creamy. Add cocoa and vanilla; then add sugar with enough cream, beating, until desired consistency.
